Mr. David K. Handley, MAI, has been associated with Joseph J. Blake and Associates, Inc. since 2010 and currently holds the position of Partner at the firm’s Chicago office.

Beginning his commercial real estate appraisal career in 2010, Dave assumed the title of Director in 2014 and became a Partner in 2025.

His valuation experience spans a broad range of property types, including office, retail, multifamily, industrial, land, hospitality and special-use properties. He has provided appraisal and consulting services for banks, private equity, developers, trusts, private individuals, insurers, and government agencies.

Dave provides clear and well-researched valuations on complex appraisal assignments, and mentors colleagues newer to the appraisal profession with developing their skill set and ensuring consistent quality across valuation assignments.

Holding the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, he is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Ohio, and has performed numerous appraisal assignments throughout the greater Midwest.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Miami.
